Roulette has been one of the most popular games in the casino industry for a number of years now. The simplicity of it all makes it appeal to a massive range of gamblers, this coupled with the fact that the paydays can be substantial make it a mouth-watering prospect.
The ways in which we can play Roulette online has drastically changed and no longer are you confined to that of simply playing against the computer. The introduction of live roulette allows the players to become much more engaged not only with the casino floor but also with other players playing the same table.
The setup generally consist of a feed being shown on your computer screen of a live, real-time roulette wheel being manned by the same casino personnel that you would find in any brick and mortar casino. Most live roulette wheels will be made up of different set ups, but usually you can expect to find at least one camera showing the roulette wheel with the croupier feeding the ball into the wheel. This same croupier will make all the same calls that you would expect from an actual casino such as ‘no more bets’ or ‘place your bets’ before setting the ball away. Depending on which live casino you play it will often result in more or less cameras being shown via their live feed for the players viewing.
The game is different from a typical online casino as you are playing against a live wheel rather than an RNG (Random Number Generator). Even though when you play online you will see the roulette wheel spin, this will be purely for aesthesis as the number will be generated randomly via the RNG. But when playing live roulette the number that the ball lands in on the live table will be the number that is then used.
Again, unlike the computer based roulette tables, the live roulette format also allows you to interact with both the dealer and other players at the table, just as you would if at a proper casino. Here you can chat with fellow players and some casino software even allows you to link up your webcam so you can see the other players and they can see you. It’s basically trying to bring the experience of playing in a live casino straight to your home. Remember these dealers are real people and you are playing in real time, so interaction levels are much higher than you would normally get from RNG based roulette wheels.
How to Play Live Roulette
The concept of live roulette is exactly the same as that if you were playing in a brick and mortar casino or an online casino. The table is set out with numbers ranging from 0 to 36 along with a number of side bets. You simply place your wager in the required space and if the ball covers your bet, then you win. Pay-outs will depend on how much you have wagered and also the section of the table you had covered.
Each number, from zero to 36 will pay-out at 35:1. There are then four outside bets which all pay 2:1 including red, black, odd or even numbers. You can then move inwards again choosing any one of three columns paying 3:1 before finally taking a whole line at 2:1. On top of that you can distribute your chips between a selection of numbers all touching ever other which are known as splits (19:1), trio, street (12:1), corner (9:1) and six line (6:1).
It’s worth noting that the game will play out in exactly the same fashion as it would in a live casino. By this we mean the same actions will take place in terms of time to place your bets and when the dealer calls ‘no more bets’. These will not fluctuate and if you haven’t got your bet in on time then you will have to wait until the next round of betting. You’ve also got to bear in mind the fact that there are other players at the table. Etiquette at the table will obviously play out a lot differently in placing bets on your computer, but just be aware that the dealer is able to interact with every player and not just yourself.
The actual table will look the same as that you are used to on an online roulette wheel. You will simply place the bet on the table before the ball starts to spin. In the very early days of live roulette you would physically see the croupier place your bets on the table, but this turned out to be a less than efficient way of dealing with things and was quickly scrapped. Bets will be placed and settled the same as an online casino, only difference is that you can see the dealer spin and place the ball in real-time.
